THE BASICS
TRINITY EVANGELICAL CHURCH
Formerly Church of the Lamb, TEC is a nondenominational congregation consisting of about 180 people. The church was planted in 1993 and has been meeting in its present location since 2007. Though most members live in the greater Fort Wayne area, many come from as far away as Auburn, Columbia City, Bluffton, Leo, Monroeville, Woodburn,
Grabill, and Markle.
WHY TEC?
Those who have become a part of our body generally refer to the following reasons for their involvement: 1) a high regard for Scripture and doctrinal orthodoxy, 2) love among the members, 3) an emphasis on discipleship, 4) a burden for persecuted Christians and the unborn, 5) a responsible board of elders, 6) prudent financial stewardship, and 7) a vibrant youth ministry.
OUR BELIEFS
The Scriptures, as found in both the Old and New Testaments, serve as our final authority in all matters of faith and practice; we regard them as inspired, infallible, and inerrant. Likewise, we adhere to the orthodox doctrines of historical Christianity as codified in the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Chalcedon Statement, and the Athanasian Creed. All teachers — of children and adults — subscribe to the Evangelical Affirmations (prepared by the Trinity Evangelical School of Divinity and the National Association of Evangelicals).
SUNDAY SERVICES
We meet every Sunday morning at 10:00. Casual dress is acceptable. A staffed nursery is available for infants and toddlers under 3 years old. Children’s Sunday School is offered during the service for 6th graders and under.
YOUTH GROUP
Teens 13 years and older meet at 7:00 on Wednesday nights. The youth group meeting consists of praise, teaching, prayer, and fellowship. Various opportunities are provided throughout the year for ministry, conferences, social action, fun, and more.
ADULT LEARNING
Several opportunities are provided for adults: E4 courses, Reason For Hope seminars, Equipping the Saints evenings, and Home Groups. See one of the staff for more information.
SPECIAL SERVICES AND EVENTS
We have special services on Good Friday and Christmas Eve; both of which are very popular. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper four times a year, consisting of a modified service on Sunday mornings. Each summer we have a baptism service at the Markle Park, combined with a church-wide picnic and softball game. Other popular events include carry-in dinners, church camp-outs, skating parties, Ladies Night Out, conversational dinners, prolife activities, seminars, and our annual Fall Party.
